Rain or Shine: Lyndsey and Thomas's Stunning Outdoor Wedding at Overlook Barn
Lyndsey and Thomas tied the knot in September at the breathtaking Overlook Barn, and their wedding was a beautiful celebration of love! Despite a persistent rain scare throughout the day, they managed to fulfill their dream of an outdoor ceremony.
On a wedding day, making the right weather call is crucial, and my goal is always to ensure the couple’s vision comes to life. For Lyndsey and Thomas, who had guests traveling from out of town, sharing their love for the mountains was a priority. Even with an iffy radar, everyone agreed it was worth taking the chance to hold the ceremony outside. Prepared for a chilly evening, they provided a basket full of blankets for their guests.
As the ceremony unfolded, dark clouds loomed in the distance. In a dramatic and memorable moment, just as they kissed, a huge clap of thunder echoed through the air, almost as if Mother Nature herself was cheering them on.
Following the ceremony, guests moved to Cliffside Barn for appetizers and drinks. Their photographer, Whitney, seized the opportunity to capture the newlywed portraits outside while the weather was still favorable. Understanding the importance of these photos, she prioritized them over family photos, knowing the couple would prefer indoor shots for the latter. Just as they finished, the skies opened up and the rain poured down.
This wedding day was a testament to the importance of hiring the right vendors. Despite the unpredictable weather, the entire wedding team was committed to putting the couple’s desires first and went above and beyond to ensure a perfect day.
The fall florals were stunning, creating a vibrant and warm atmosphere. We repurposed the ceremony flowers to make a statement piece behind the sweetheart table, and many of these beautiful blooms were donated to a nursing home afterward, spreading joy beyond the wedding day.
Lyndsey and Thomas’s wedding was a radiant celebration, demonstrating how love and determination can shine through any storm. It was a day filled with heartfelt moments, stunning details, and unforgettable memories.
