Wedding Venue Tour Questions: Essential Tips from an NC Wedding Planner

When embarking on your wedding planning journey, selecting the perfect venue is often the first and most crucial decision you'll make. Your choice of venue can set the tone for your entire celebration, making it essential to find the one that resonates with your vision. To ensure you find the best-suited venue, I've compiled a list of must-ask questions for your venue tour. By having these questions answered, you'll be well-equipped to make an informed and delightful choice for your special day!

  • What is included at the venue? You want to find a space that provides more than just the four walls of the venue. If they don't provide tables, chairs, etc. you’ll need to go through another vendor to rent these items which can add additional costs, time, and logistics.

    • Tables/chairs? How many?

    • Linens?

    • Bathrooms?

    • Getting ready suites?

    • Parking/Parking attendants?

    • Venue manager?

    • Coordinator?

    • Arbor or other decor?

  • How long do you have the venue for?

    • If the venue rental is a Friday-Sunday rental, you can host your rehearsal dinner there the night before which can cut down on costs as well.

  • Do they allow you to have a rehearsal at the venue the day before the wedding?

  • How many people can they seat in the ceremony space? Reception space?

  • Do they require that you use any specific vendors?

    • Catering, rentals, bartenders, etc.

  • Do they require a wedding coordinator or planner?

  • What is the rain/bad weather plan?

  • Are there any additional costs to consider?

    • Required event insurance

    • Liquor License
