Wildflower Summer Wedding at Appalachian View | Payton + Josh's Unforgettable Celebration | NC Wedding Planner

Payton and Josh are a down to earth from Florida couple who married in the mountains of NC for their summer wedding. Their wedding was the perfect June wedding with wildflower details and mountain views. The sun was shining just the right amount of warmth and their guests were happy as can be celebrating the newlyweds!

First Looks

Payton did a first look with her bridesmaids, her brothers, and her dad. Her bridesmaids were the perfect hype girls to boost Payton’s confidence before she walked down the aisle! This was the first wedding that I got to witness a brother-bride first look and it was precious.

The Wedding Party

All of the bridesmaids wore the same color dress but in different styles. Their unique dresses showed off their personalities and the color complimented the mountains in the background!

One of my wedding planner tricks is to make sure the wedding party is lined up perfectly during the ceremony. We do this by practicing at the rehearsal and by having a golf tee stuck in the grass so that each person knows exactly where to stand. This wedding party nailed it and looked perfect standing beside Payton and Josh!

Color Scheme

During the planning process, Payton was a little bit unsure of what color scheme she wanted to go with for her wedding. In the end, she decided to go for a summer wildflower theme so that she could have ALL the colors. Having neutral groomsmen suits and neutral tablescapes helped the wildflowers pop. It was the perfect decision for her wedding design!

Eco-Friendly Wedding Decisions

The core value of Joelle Parks Events Co. is to create eco-friendly events and help reduce waste in the events industry. This looks different for each wedding, but we believe that every little decision can make a difference.

Minimalism: Payton wanted to make sure that they made intentional decisions with decor and that they didn't have anything that wasn't necessary. They kept their decor minimal and avoided unncecessary waste! All their decor was able to be repurposed in some way beyond the wedding day.

Florals: All of the florals were either given to family/vendors at the end of the night. They will decompose on their own, but we were able to make sure they could be enjoyed beyond the wedding day! The flowers were also locally grown by Shady Grove Gardens. Locally grown flowers are a more eco-friendly option as they help support our local ecosystem, local farmers, and it reduces pollution caused by shipping flowers from far away.

Food and Alcohol: The family was able to take home leftover food and alcohol so it didn't have to go to waste!

Rentals: All of the dishware, tables, linens, etc. were rentals. None of the items were single use, which means many other couples can use them in the future.

Payton and Josh, thanks for trusting me with your wedding day. I wish you a lifelong marriage filled with laughter and adventure!

xo,

Joelle
