Darian and Dillon are the sweetest Charlotte couple! They fell in love with the mountains, just like many of us have, and wanted that to be reflected in their wedding. Sky Retreat was just right for them! Their wedding was the perfect mix of Charlotte elegance and natural mountain beauty with a touch of sparkle!

First Look

First looks are all the rage these days and Darian chose to take it up a notch by having a first look with her cat! It was adorable and a really fun way to add some of her personality to the day. The pictures speak for themselves!

The Wedding Dress

Okay we can’t talk about sparkle without mentioning Darian’s dress! This dress was a show stopper! Her dress lit up the dance floor and created the most fun party pictures that Flightless Bird Photography captured so beautifully! 

Wedding Details

We love some good details around here and this wedding didn’t miss a thing. From the invitation suite to the unique reception chairs to the signage, each detail was carefully chosen and designed to fit the overall theme. It was cohesive from top to bottom! I loved the champagne wall paired with the seating chart so guests could grab some bubbly and find their seat.

Private Last Dance

Darian and Dillon topped off their romantic mountain wedding with a private last dance. While guests were lining up outside, they shared one last moment to soak up the wedding day. They left the wedding under a tunnel of sparklers.

Eco-Friendly Wedding Decisions

The core value of Joelle Parks Events Co. is to create eco-friendly events and help reduce waste in the events industry. This looks different for each wedding, but we believe that every little decision can make a difference.

Florals: We reused florals throughout the space. For example, the ceremony arrangements were moved to cocktail hour and the reception so that they could be enjoyed for longer. This also helped the couple save some money because they didn’t have to purchase florals for each area but could reuse them. All of the florals were either given to family/vendors or taken to a nursing home. They will decompose on their own, but we were able to make sure they could be enjoyed beyond the wedding day!

Rentals: All of the dishware, tables, linens, decor etc. were rentals. None of the items were single use, which means many other couples can use them in the future.

All of the vendors are local! Supporting small, local businesses is always a more sustainable option as it helps the local economy.
