Expressing Gratitude: 3 Memorable Ways to Thank Your Wedding Vendors

Picking great vendors for your wedding day makes all the difference! They are your powerhouse team making sure that your dream wedding day happens. Tipping your vendors is always MUCH appreciated. We often don’t expect it but we always appreciate it. I know that your wedding budget is important and sometimes it doesn’t allow for generous tips in the end. If that’s you, don’t sweat it! I have three tips for any couple to implement after their wedding day!

#1 Write a Thank You Note

After the wedding, take some time to sit down and write a handwritten thank you note and mail it to each vendor. Tell them how much you appreciated their hard work in making your day spectacular! I know it sounds so simple, but it really goes a long way. I’ve kept every thank you note I’ve ever received!

#2 Leave A Google Review

If you LOVED working with your vendors, write them a 5 star review! Reviews help build credibility and help other couples, just like you, find their dream vendor team. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to say in a review. Here are a few questions to get you started:

  1. Did you have any concerns (about photography, DJ, catering, wedding planning, rentals, etc.) before you booked with them?

  2. How do you feel about the experience and investment now that your wedding is complete?

  3. What was your favorite part of working with that vendor? and why?

  4. Did any of your family or friends enjoy their interactions with them, and did they tell you what they liked about their experience?

  5. What made working with this vendor unique? Did they go out of their way to do something special or extravagant?

  6. Would you recommend them to others? If so, why?

#3 Refer Their Services to Your Friends!

Word of mouth recommendations are so helpful for small, local businesses. When your friends and family members get engaged, share your experiences with them and refer them to use your vendors, too! It’s also important to tag your vendors in photos that you share on social media so they can get the proper credit for their hard work.

Many wedding vendors have diverse offerings and they may be a good fit for a non-wedding related event as well. For example, your photographer may be able to do maternity photos for your friend or your caterer may be able to cater your grandparents 50th anniversary party. It’s so fun to get to work with couples and their friends/families again so don’t hesitate to recommend your favorite vendors or to use them again for your future celebrations!

Bonus Tip:

Factor in gratuity for your vendors when you first make your wedding budget. If you can plan for it in advance, it won’t be something stressful down the road. I give all of my couples a tipping guide from the very beginning! The guide breaks down the industry standard for tipping in each vendor category so you can make sure to show your vendors the proper appreciation!

Happy Wedding Planning, Friends!
