When my husband, David, and I were dating in college at UNC Charlotte, we would escape to Boone to visit my family on the weekends. I would turn off my phone for the whole weekend and we would just focus on being together. Sometimes we’d find ourselves huddled up in a coffee shop studying for our exams for hours and sometimes we’d drop all responsibilities and enjoy our favorite local spots. We both remember Boone being this oasis for us as we navigated through the angst of dating in college.

Food is one of the central parts of a wedding. Couples want guests to enjoy a delicious meal and believe me, guests want to enjoy a delicious meal, too! I’d be willing to bet that what no one wants is to have hundreds of dollars worth of food scraped into a trash can at the end of the night.

From a very early age, my parents told me to find something I love to do and then find a way to get paid for it. Their advice and creative encourgement is what led me to a love for wedding and event planning.
