Wedding Budget Tips

No one likes to talk about it. No one likes to think about it. And some might even hope they can avoid it all together and move on. You know what I’m talking about. It’s a wedding budget. Yikes. But does it have to be yikes?

Find a Venue That Has It All

When you’re looking for a venue, try to avoid the “only these four walls” kind of venue. Renting a space is a big investment, so the more a venue includes, the better. I’m always looking for venues that include tables, chairs, linens, bathrooms, arbors, bride and groom suites, and a solid rain plan in the overall cost. It’ll quickly add up to book separate vendors for tables and chairs, linens, dishware, a bridal suite, or a tent. Overall, a venue that includes more than just the space is going to be more cost-effective.

This will also reduce extra planning on your end. Having to find a vendor for linens or table and chair rentals or an airbnb for you and your bridal party to get ready at can take up a lot of time and add stress to your already full plate.

A few venues that provide SO much for their couples are Appalachian View, Overlook Barn, Brown Mountain Beach, and The White Crow.

Feature a Signature Drinks Bar

I love the signature drink trend! One of my current couples are complete dog lovers, but unfortunately, they can’t have their dogs at their wedding. We’ve decided to create two signature drink cocktails named after each of their dogs. Their guests will get to enjoy their choice of a “Mozzi” or a “Cannoli” and give a cheers to the pups!

This is saving the couple thousands of dollars in bar and beverage prices. A full bar can cost anywhere from $50-100 per person, depending on the quality of liquor. A bar with only two signature drinks for guests to choose from can reduce the price per person to $11-30. Not to mention, it’s a cute personal touch to make your wedding unique.

If you’re looking to reduce the cost even more, opt for a wine and beer only bar.

Hire a Wedding Planner

Hiring a wedding planner is an investment you won’t regret. As a professional wedding planner, I’ve planned many weddings and I know the wedding industry like the back of my hand. I’ll help you find the best deals on the things you’re investing in. How do you know if the florals you choose are “affordable”? How can you be sure that this caterer is quoting you “the best price in town”? As your wedding planner, I know these important details and can help you make wise budgeting decisions.

As a bonus, I give ALL of my couples an entire list of discounts to places like Minted, Generation Tux, and more. I have connections with businesses that love my couples and want to extend a discount to you.

I’d call that a win-win! Head over to my Contact page and let’s set up a time to chat about how I can come alongside you in the planning process and help you make great wedding budget decisions.

At the end of the day, you have to remember the most important thing about your wedding day is that you’re GETTING MARRIED! My goal as your wedding planner is to make sure the planning process goes as smoothly as possible. This includes helping you create and manage your wedding budget, book vendors within your budget, and helping you make the best spending decisions for your wedding day. I’m here as a resource for you!

xo,

Joelle
